We have an exciting opportunity for a part time (22.5 hours per week) Facilities Assistant based at Langdon Hospital in Dawlish.
The post holder will work within the Trust's various wards and departments to carry out a range of duties associated with the provision of cleaning, food service and other patient support activities.
Main duties of the job
1. Cleaning duties within the allocated department of work and associated areas in accordance with the departmental cleaning schedule, National Cleaning Standards and including specialist cleaning as required by Infection Control.
2. Assist with ad hoc light Portering duties.
3. Checking equipment to be used and displaying warning signs to comply with the Health and Safety Regulations.
4. Ensuring correct waste segregation disposal procedures in accordance with Trust policy.
5. Regeneration and serving of food, beverage preparation and associated duties.
6. Distribution and collection of linen to wards and departments and other associated laundry duties.
7. Completion of Trust and departmental paperwork in accordance with standing instructions.
8. Assistance with Health, Safety, Hygiene and monitoring checks/audits.
9. To observe Food Hygiene Legislation, hospital and client policies and procedures at all times, reporting any faults, defects or operational issues to the Supervisor/Manager/Client representative.
10. Engagement with all training programmes/courses relevant to the role.

Person Specification
Physical Skills
* Moderate physical abilities required to carry out this post.
* Food service delivery of the meals to service users (obtained through training and good practice).
Planning & Organisational Skills
* Able to cope with a sometimes unpredictable environment.
* Able to organise own day to day work task obtained through good practice.
Knowledge
* Hospital cleaning techniques.
* Food Hygiene/safety.
Qualifications
* QCF level 2 or equivalent in Hospitality/cleaning and support services, or willing to work towards achieving qualification.
* Basic IT Skills.
* Level 1 Food Hygiene.
Experience
* Experience in cleaning services.
* Experience in catering services.
Communication and Working Relationship Skills
* Providing and receiving routine information orally, in writing and electronically to assist in understanding own job.
Analytical & Judgemental Skills
