Sidney Sussex College is seeking to appoint a Part-Time Catering Assistant (20 hpw) reporting to the Hall Manager. This post offers an exciting opportunity to work within a professional catering operation at the forefront of raising the overall standards of the food and service to the highest level.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a passion for delivering a high standard of customer care. Applicants should have a friendly, flexible working attitude, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn new skills.
This is a permanent, part-time post averaging 20 hours per week, which will normally be worked across a 2-week shift system working 5 days out of 7. Subject to discussion, we may be flexible with shift patterns (for example, we may be able to offer all evening and weekend shifts, if required).
However, there is a need for flexibility to meet unpredictable operational demands on the College. The salary is £12.62 per hour, equating to £13,125.30 gross per annum.
Benefits include an annual leave entitlement of 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays pro rata, a contributory pension scheme provided by the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS), free College meals when on duty, and subsidised membership of the College’s gym facilities. The College is also closed over the Christmas period.
