Assistant Buyer – Wrapping Paper, Gift Bags and Party Supplies

Contract: 9-12 month FTC

A well-known retailer is seeking an Assistant Buyer to join their team in Wakefield. This role involves working across essential celebration products such as wrapping paper, gift bags, and party supplies. Collaborating closely with other teams, you will play a key role in contributing to the company’s growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in product development to ensure items meet customer needs and expectations.
* Support data-driven decision-making and help manage risks while driving sales and profit growth.
* Monitor and evaluate the performance of your product category.
* Contribute to successful negotiations with suppliers and partners.
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders.
* Ensure critical paths are adhered to and proactively address any issues that arise.
* Conduct market research to generate product ideas and perform cost comparison analysis.
* Assist in sample reviews alongside the Quality Control (QC) team.
About You:
We are looking for a candidate with prior buying experience in a similar role, ideally within gifting or fashion. Strong communication skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines are essential. The ideal candidate will be innovative, confident in sharing ideas with the team, and passionate about contributing to the company’s success.
