We are working with an established organisation in the Folkestone area who are looking to employ a Legal Counsel on a permanent basis.

Main Duties:
To draft, negotiate and approve a wide range of upstream and downstream commercial contracts, including the supply of goods/services, rail-related construction, IT/IP contracts and marketing/advertising agreements.
To liaise with colleagues across the business to identify legal considerations arising from day-to-day operational and commercial activities.
To work closely with other business functions, ensuring key stakeholders are appropriately involved and informed of progress/developments.
Collaborate with the Head of Legal UK and the Legal Director on objectives.
Contribute to bi-national work between legal team members.
Identify and mitigate legal risks for the Group's operations and commercial activities.
Provide training to legal team members on key UK issues and risks, and arranging training.
Offer legal advice and recommendations on regulatory compliance requirements, particularly on implementing Data Protection and Competition law policies.Requirements:
UK qualified solicitor/barrister with 3/4+ years PQE.
Ideally a mix of private practice and in-house legal experience dealing with corporate, commercial and regulatory issues.
Fluency in French is desirable but not essential.
Familiar with sector specific law, processes, policies and practices.
Possess the skills to work autonomously to minimise legal risks and obtain maximum commercial advantages from commercial/corporate activities.
Stay up to date with legal developments in technical, commercial and financial operations.
Recommend legal actions and assist with compliance-related work.
