The Essex and Suffolk Elective Orthopaedic Centre at Colchester Hospital is one of the largest centres of its kind in Europe, delivering high volume and low complexity cases locally for the people we serve across our region.
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Recovery Support Workers to join our orthopaedic team. Alongside your duties, you will also support other colleagues working within the centre.

The Dame Clare Marx Building houses our elective orthopaedic centre (ESEOC) with a focus on elective orthopaedic surgery and day cases. The centre has eight laminar flow theatres, three wards, recovery facilities, and support services including radiology and EBME.
Please note, the shift patterns will be Monday to Saturday 10am-7pm.
Main duties of the job
* To contribute to supporting nursing staff in the care of patients under the direction of registered members of the clinical team.
* To provide support and assistance within the Recovery teams.
* Assist in supplying and maintaining materials and equipment.
* Undertake direct patient care.

Person Specification
Experience
* Relevant work or life experience with evidence of significance to the post.
* Evidence of relevant past employment record linked to health care.
Qualifications
* GCSE's A-C in Maths and English.
* Evidence of ability to learn.
* Relevant health care study or courses.
Knowledge
* Evidence of an appropriate understanding of personal needs of patients.
