The HR Advisor provides customer-focused, comprehensive, and pragmatic HR advice and support to managers, staff, and employees in line with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements. You will have a strong generalist skill set and take a proactive, commercial approach to facilitating change across the business while dealing tactfully and confidently with all key stakeholders.
Your core responsibilities
1. Provide a dedicated HR advisory service related to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, and other employment and employee relations issues.
2. Develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with service areas, colleagues, and employee representatives, establishing professional credibility.
3. Manage casework related to sickness absence, including making recommendations, advising managers, liaising with Occupational Health, conducting case review meetings, and supporting dismissal hearings.
4. Support the development of a performance management culture within the service area by developing managers’ skills, leading on capability-related casework, and guiding managers through relevant policies.
5. Lead and/or support HR Business Partners on disciplinary and grievance casework, ensuring compliance with legislation, policy, and best practices.
6. Prepare regular and ad hoc management information reports.
7. Contribute HR advisory input into service area projects, such as change management programs and working groups, as required.
Qualifications and Experience
* Actively studying towards the CIPD qualification.
* Experience advising on disciplinary and grievance matters.
* Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
* Understanding of key aspects of performance management and employee engagement.
