Role: Billing Operations Manager (Telco)
Location: Redhill, Surrey (Offers up to 6 Days per month remote, the rest is onsite!)

Main Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Billing Operations Manager (Telco) to oversee and manage the end-to-end billing process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with internal standards. This role involves leading the billing team, maintaining billing systems, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and delivering key management reports.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of billing processes, and the ability to manage a team effectively. This position requires a strong grasp of telecoms or subscription-based billing, with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the end-to-end billing cycle, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.
* Oversee billing systems and provisioning platforms, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
* Process and validate customer activations, deactivations, and package changes, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
* Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies and drive resolution.
* Maintain oversight of customer accounts, billing profiles, and applicable rates.
* Ensure accurate invoice validation and approval before final issuance to customers.
* Manage billing-related queries, ensuring timely resolutions and excellent customer service.
* Prepare and present analytical reports to senior management for financial decision-making.
* Oversee and manage the ticketing system to ensure customer requests are handled within SLA timelines.
* Work closely with finance teams for invoice approvals and ledger reconciliation.
* Develop and enhance internal billing processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
* Train and support internal teams on billing systems and processes.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align billing processes with company objectives.
* Handle escalations and manage billing-related complaints effectively.
Key Stakeholders & Interactions:
* Finance, Credit Control, and Product Management teams.
* Sales, Customer Support, and Executive Management.
* External customers, vendors, and service providers.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in airtime billing operations, telecoms billing, or subscription-based services.
* Experience working in telecoms, satellite communications, or a technology-driven industry.
* Knowledge of SQL, Access databases, or ERP systems (e.g., Navision, Great Plains).
* Familiarity with customer provisioning and account management platforms.
* Understanding of financial and regulatory compliance related to billing.
* Strong understanding of billing and provisioning systems with a track record of accuracy and efficiency.
* Experience managing and leading a team.
* Ability to analyze and interpret large data sets to identify trends and discrepancies.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
* Self-motivated with a strong problem-solving mindset.
* Strong attention to detail and process-driven approach.
