Dairying Development Adviser Hours:
* Mon – Fri (9.00am – 5.00pm)
About the Dairying Development Adviser role:
Reporting to the Senior Dairying Development adviser the main duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate will include:
1. The management of a number of discussion groups for dairy farmers.
This will include planning of a delivery schedule, preparation and facilitation of farmer group meetings and mentoring of individual group
members between meetings to ensure competence and business development objectives are met.
2. The provision of feedback to group participants on a range of sustainability and profitability metrics against benchmarked averages. This
will lead to the formulation and delivery of an improvement plan with individual farmers.
3. Ensuring the adoption of new technologies on group member farms in line with CAFRE knowledge transfer objectives.
4. Provision of technical support to CAFRE Knowledge Transfer & Innovation Schemes, CAFRE management and Policy and Education
5. Communication of knowledge transfer information to farmers via the press and social media platforms.
Other duties in line with the business needs of CAFRE and DAERA.
Essential Experience & Qualifications required:
The applicant must possess an Honours Degree in Agriculture or related discipline.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
* Experience relating to dairy production
* Experience of knowledge transfer to farmers
