Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join OMF & Orthodontic clinics Trust wide, covering a variety of clinics within the specialty.
Main duties of the job
Working under delegation and supervision of a registered staff/dental nurse, the Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) will undertake defined responsibilities appropriate to their role in the workplace setting. They will comply with Trust policies, protocols, and guidelines, ensuring safe, compassionate and competent care is delivered to our patients and service users at all times.
All HCSW will be supported in completing the Care Certificate, which can be used to support applications to higher learning (Nurse Associate).
This post is based at Lincoln but will cover Boston and Grantham when required.
Clinic shifts are 08:30 - 17:00 Mon - Fri and 08:30 - 12:30 Sat - Sun (including all bank holidays).

Person specification
Qualification
* English and Maths qualification at GCSE grades A*- E, or Functional Skills Level 1
* NVQ Level 2/3 in a Health Related area or equivalent experience
* Successful completion of the Care Certificate
* Knowledge of Oral Maxillofacial & Orthodontics
* ECDL qualification or equivalent
* Ability to work in a demanding and busy environment
* Understanding the role of the Health Care Support Worker
* Ability to manage time effectively
* Ability to work effectively on an individual basis and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Good customer care skills
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to engage in effective working relationships with both patients, their relatives and colleagues
* Knowledge of confidentiality, infection prevention and dignity in care within the workplace
* Ability to prioritise and manage daily workload
* Awareness and Knowledge of the dignity in care agenda
* Ability to recognise own limitations
* Ability to evidence/demonstrate key values and behaviours in line with both the Trust framework
* Working knowledge of Health and Safety, Infection Prevention and Manual Handling
Previous Experience
* Experience of working in a customer focused environment
* Experience of using computer systems for data entry and retrieval
* Previous experience of working in a health / care setting
Specific Requirements
* Flexible in approach to work – must be able to undertake shift work where required
* Ability to use own initiative
* Committed to on-going personal development
* Willing to undertake and complete the Care Certificate within 12 weeks of commencing employment and further education, training and development relevant to the post
* Committed to completing the Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship Standard qualification within 18mth period
