Role: Speech & Language Therapist Banding: Band 6/7 Location: Chester Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: £40,000.00 - £52,000.00 per annum The AHP team at Pulse is seeking a dynamic and experienced Speech & Language Therapist to lead our dedicated team in Chester. We are a special education school located in the heart of Chester, catering to 108 pupils aged 4-19 years with complex autism, learning difficulties, and behaviours that challenge. Our mission is to deliver bespoke therapy tailored to each pupil's unique needs. We offer flexible working hours from 9am to 5pm, with the option to work longer hours for an early Friday finish. Your main responsibilities as a Speech and Language Therapist: You will collaborate as part of a trans-disciplinary team to ensure each pupil’s needs are understood, accurately planned for, and closely monitored. You will advise teaching staff on pupils’ speech, language, and communication development to achieve the best possible outcomes. You will provide both direct and indirect therapy for individuals and groups of pupils. You will assess pupils’ needs for and use of evidence-based alternative/augmentative communication (AAC) tools, including signing, communication books, and voice output communication aids. You will contribute to the development of positive behaviour support plans, working closely with behaviour analysts, class teachers, and other team members. You will participate in annual reviews and EHCP reporting. What we are looking for in a Speech and Language Therapist: HCPC registered. Experience working with children and young people with autism and complex learning disabilities. Experience supporting AAC use, including both low and high-tech solutions.
