We’re now looking for a Production Assistant (6 month fixed-term contract) to support the smooth and timely delivery of high-quality editorial content across the Guardian’s digital platforms. You'll be part of a crucial team preparing our content for publication, and could be working on every kind of story – from global politics to climate change and international conflicts, to popular culture, tech advances and human-interest. About the Role As a Production Assistant, you’ll help maintain the Guardian’s high editorial, technical and design standards across our global digital platforms. Working as part of a 24/7 international team, you’ll: Respond to production requests and troubleshoot technical issues. Edit theguardian.com front pages and assist with newsletters. Support desks globally with digital best practices and breaking news production. Collaborate with development teams to improve editorial tools. Liaise with legal, editorial and commercial teams to process corrections, manage tagging, and ensure archival integrity. Deliver training and maintain user documentation. This is a hybrid role based in our London office, working a 9-day fortnight pattern including regular weekend shifts. About You Journalistic experience in a print or online environment. Understanding and enthusiasm for The Guardian’s editorial values. Experience of working in a changing and pressurised environment. Knowledge of digital production. Demonstrable enthusiasm for and interest in digital journalism. Experience with content management systems.
