Description
Davies is seeking a dedicated Liability Claims Handler to join our growing Casualty team.
The Liability Claims Handler will efficiently manage EL & PL claims related to personal injury and third-party property damage. Experience in all three UK legal jurisdictions and in other areas of claims handling is advantageous.
The successful candidate will handle an allocated caseload, investigate claims concerning policy indemnity, legal liability, and quantum, report to clients, and ensure proactive claims management aligned with Casualty Claims Solutions and client philosophies.
This role offers the opportunity to work within a dedicated team providing first-class, proactive claims handling services to major clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Liaise with insurers, policyholders, and brokers.
2. Investigate claims from the desk or via referral to a field adjuster for site investigations.
3. Gather evidence and relevant documentation.
4. Determine appropriate actions for resolution.
5. Prepare detailed reports advising on policy indemnity, liability, and quantum.
6. Negotiate settlements within authority limits.
7. Communicate professionally with all parties to progress cases.
8. Follow documented procedures to meet client requirements.
9. Maintain reserves through regular reviews.
10. Stay updated on technical changes relevant to the role, including participating in training.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Experience with Employers Liability (EL) & Public Liability (PL) claims.
* Experience handling personal injury and third-party property damage claims.
* Knowledge of injury claim valuation and reserving philosophies.
* Understanding of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively and manage workload responsibly.
* Adaptability, flexibility, and good planning skills.
* Proficiency in IT.
