Mechanical Design Engineer Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our design and development team, focusing on creating innovative and high-quality products for the hygiene sector. This position will be responsible for both new product development and enhancing existing product lines. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting daily design activities, driving innovation, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Mechanical Design Engineer's Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate in the management and execution of projects related to both new products and existing product enhancements, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
* Develop creative design concepts and assist in estimating project timelines and costs, including the preparation of detailed product specifications.
* Prioritise and organise tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
* Ensure all designs are optimised for manufacturability, particularly in the context of injection moulding processes.
* Continuously improve design processes to maintain alignment with industry standards and best practices.
* Assist in regulatory compliance, including preparation for audits by bodies such as ISO. Ensure ongoing adherence to the latest regulations.
* Conduct product testing, analyse results, and generate comprehensive test reports to validate product performance.
* Provide technical support to internal teams and external partners, including Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Sales, to facilitate smooth product launches and ongoing support.
* Generate and maintain detailed technical documentation, including 2D and 3D CAD drawings, product specifications, and user manuals.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance product quality and streamline design processes.
Mechanical Design Engineer's Technical Skills & Requirements:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical product design, with a strong focus on design for manufacturing (DFM) and injection molding.
* Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software for creating detailed designs and technical drawings.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, including expertise in electronics, firmware, and software design.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to various stakeholders.
* Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
* Provide technical training and support for internal teams and external clients as required.
* Represent the company at industry exhibitions, showcasing product innovations and gathering market insights.
* Potential for both domestic and international travel to support product launches, client meetings, and industry events.
Mechanical Design Engineer's Personal Attributes/Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
