Hire Desk Controller, JP Rentals - Edinburgh, Newbridge Depot
About The Role:
Based at our new Edinburgh Depot, Newbridge, our Hire Desk Controller will be responsible for providing a wide range of administrative support tasks to assist with the day-to-day operations of our JP Rentals functions within our Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen Depots. You will consult closely with the central office staff, onsite workshop team, suppliers, and customers to ensure that all administrative tasks are completed timely, efficiently, and effectively and in line with our high standards of customer care.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
* Professionally and effectively communicate with internal and external customers and coordinate asset availability.
* Effectively convert enquiries into profitable hires.
* Recognise and escalate issues to the Rentals Manager and day-to-day onsite issues with the JPL Depot Manager in a timely manner.
* Ensure the delivery and collection of vehicles when required, supporting vehicle movements and PFH’s where necessary.
* Co-ordinate and deliver service excellence to meet customer requirements.
* Seek to achieve best commercial return from hire and transport assets.
* Support Breakdown management across all depots utilising JPVR staff, TPS and manufacturers.
* Manage and maintain electronic and manual records, including filing and archiving.
* Process customer charges.
* Deal with customer hire enquiries, negotiating best hire terms and taking off hire notifications.
You will receive on-the-job training and support in all administrative tasks required to support our central depot and workshop operations.

The successful candidate must have the following skills and experience:
* Previous experience of working within a hire desk role.
* Strong organisational skills, with attention to the small details.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
* Be an effective communicator, both verbal and written.
* Proficient IT knowledge with specific experience in the use of Microsoft Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel software packages and accurate keyboard expertise.
