About the Position
This Production Engineer role requires a highly skilled individual who can ensure the efficient operation of the production line, maintain high-quality standards, and identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. The successful candidate will work closely with the team to achieve production targets and implement process improvements.
Main Responsibilities:
* Quality Management: Ensure all quality checks are completed and required adjustments are made to produce products to the required standard.
* Problem Prevention: Identify and rectify problems in a timely manner to maintain production efficiency.
* Manufacturing Planning: Produce the manufacturing plan to achieve 100% customer satisfaction.
* Line Performance: Ensure the efficient running of the line and equipment, reducing downtime and identifying problem areas affecting performance.
* Spoilage Control: Minimise work order spoilage by identifying and resolving issues as they arise.
* Maintenance Activities: Carry out required maintenance activities as needed.
* Breakdown Resolution: Resolve breakdowns and carry out improvement tasks/projects as required.
* Training and Development: Involve in training activities to improve own effectiveness and train others.
* Team Leadership: Lead the line team in problem-solving for the rest of the production line and lead handover.
Requirements:
* Engineering Qualification: Time served apprenticeship or recognised engineering qualification.
* Techincal Documentation: Able to work from drawings, manuals, and technical documents.
* FMCG Experience: 3-5 years' experience in FMCG, preferably packaging.
* Adaptability: Proactive approach to new methods and adaptable to change.
* Changeovers: Competent on changeovers.
* Problem Analysis: Ability to analysis problems and take corrective action.
* Technical Knowledge: Understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics. Basic electrical knowledge is advantageous.
