Job summary Consultant - Stroke Services NNUHFT is a vibrant, aspirational organisation, working towards becoming a Neurosciences Centre of Excellence to respond to the National Stroke Plan. We are looking to add to our established Stroke Services team by appointing a seventh substantive, whole time (10PA) Consultant position, to support the expansion of the Stroke Directorate, including the development of mechanical Thrombectomy Services. Main duties of the job You will be based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) with a rotation to our offsite Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at Beech Ward, based at Norwich Community Hospital, part of Norfolk Community Health & Care NHS Trust.The role is for the provision of consultant medical services to patients admitted onto the Stroke pathway. This includes thrombolysis, HASU ward rounds, ASU ward rounds and rehabilitation ward rounds. Upon commencement, you will agree to a personalised job plan, including clinical commitments, as well as the supervision and teaching of junior doctors involved in the care of our patients.Contributing to the 7 days a week stroke, consultant ward rounds to all of our hyper acute stroke patients. There is an on-call rota specifically for Stroke only, with a frequency of approximately 1 in 7 with prospective cover including thrombolysis.
