Young Women s IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advocate)
Location: North London
Salary: £27,000 - £28,840 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Fixed-term until 31st March 2025
Hours: Various roles available:

About the Role
I am delighted to be supporting a dynamic and passionate organisation based in North London, in their search for dedicated Young Women s IDVA. These roles offer an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young survivors of domestic violence.
Candidates do not need to be IDVA-trained prior to joining but must have experience in charities, working with young people, and/or domestic violence services.
Essential Requirements
* Experience: At least one year in a relevant role within the charity sector, supporting young people and/or survivors of domestic abuse.
* Knowledge: In-depth understanding of violence against women and girls, particularly relationship abuse and exploitation.
* Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build safe and trusted relationships, centering the needs of young women.
* Equity & Inclusion: Understanding of how intersecting identities impact experiences of violence and access to support.
* Advocacy & Leadership: Ability to advocate for young women, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and betterment.
* Safeguarding: Strong knowledge of child protection and safeguarding protocols.
* Communication & Teamwork: Excellent teamwork skills and ability to liaise effectively with management and external partners.
* Compliance: Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide proof of the right to work in the UK.
Desirable
* Qualifications such as IDVA, ISVA, YPVA, or similar.
* Training or experience in youth work or violence against women and girls sector.
* Experience in delivering creative, inclusive engagement activities.
* Awareness of local community needs in Barnet and surrounding boroughs.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a caseload of up to 10 young survivors of abuse, maintaining regular engagement and structured support sessions.
* Maintaining accurate records and reports in compliance with safeguarding policies.
* Conducting weekly case reviews with the Safeguard Lead and reporting any risk or safety concerns.
* Acting as an advocate for young women, ensuring their safety and access to necessary support.
* Developing innovative opportunities for young people s personal growth and wellbeing.
* Collaborating with the wider team to ensure high-quality service delivery, including participation in group activities and workshops.
* Engaging in ongoing training and professional development.
* Performing additional relevant tasks as required, with honesty and integrity.
