About Hinkley Point C
The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.
Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UK’s move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan.
What you'll be doing
As a Technical Administrator, you will have the following responsibilities:
* Develop comprehensive documentation that meets contractual requirements and standards.
* Develop a deep understanding of the MEH Alliance scope to enable compilation of contract deliverables into suitable documentation to support the construction management system needs.
* Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience.
* Constantly evaluate the content of documents and develop innovative approaches for improvement.
* Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various teams to understand project requirements.
* Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organise, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and processes.
* Research, create and maintain information architecture templates that uphold organisational standards, and allow for easy access.
* Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent and cohesive message across all documentation.
* Assist with the creation of Construction Work Packs in the Switch system.
Who we're looking for
Do you have?
* HNC/HND in relevant technical field.
* IOSH Managing Safely preferred.
* CCNSG or HSE MaPs Safety Passport.
* Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences.
* Experience of working with engineering to improve the user experience (design and user interface), to help refine content and to create visuals and diagrams for technical support content.
* Ability to obtain a high-level security clearance.
