We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Technical Sales Manager to drive new business growth and strengthen customer relationships in the lubrication and filtration sector. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in lubrication (or related fields), who is passionate about hunting for new business, and isn't afraid to get hands-on with technical solutions. While formal qualifications are a plus, we value expertise, experience, and a proactive mindset above all.

Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Conquest Sales
* Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities, focusing on conquest accounts and expanding market reach.
* Develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase revenue, working towards and exceeding targets.
* Generate and nurture leads through networking, cold outreach, and attending industry events.
* Drive sales from initial contact to close, ensuring a strong pipeline of new business.
Technical Expertise & Customer Support
* Serve as the go-to technical expert for filtration solutions, advising customers on the best product to meet their needs.
* Conduct on-site assessments and demonstrations to showcase product capabilities and resolve technical queries.
* Provide post-sales support, ensuring customer satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
* Deliver training and technical support to customers to enhance their understanding and efficient use of the product range.
Industry Engagement & Brand Representation
* Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and networking events, building relationships with key industry players.
* Stay ahead of market trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements to inform sales strategies and product positioning.
* Work closely with marketing and product teams to refine messaging, support campaigns, and drive market awareness.
* Work cross-functionally with senior management, sales, production, and customer service teams to ensure alignment on business goals.
* Maintain and update CRM systems, ensuring accurate tracking of sales activities, prospects, and market trends.
* Provide regular reports on pipeline progress, sales performance, and market insights to support decision-making.

* Proven track record in technical sales, or a related field ideally within lubrication, engineering, or industrial solutions.
* Strong hunter mentality, comfortable with outbound sales and conquest business development.
* Hands-on technical expertise in lubrication, filtration, or related mechanical applications (formal qualifications are nice to have but not essential).
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to break down complex technical concepts for different audiences.

* Willingness to travel and engage with customers on-site to understand their needs and provide solutions.

Qualifications & Skills
Preferred Education (Nice to Have, But Not Essential)
While formal qualifications are not required, a background in the following areas would be advantageous:
* Applied Sciences – Chemistry, Tribology, Materials Science, or related fields.
* Diplomas/Certifications in Maintenance, Reliability Engineering, or Fluid Power Systems.

Candidates with any of the following certifications will be highly regarded:
* Lubrication & Tribology Certifications:
* Certified Lubrication Specialist (CLS) – Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE).
* Machine Lubricant Analyst (MLA I, II, III) – International Council for Machinery Lubrication (ICML).
* Machinery Lubrication Technician (MLT I, II) – ICML.
* Oil Analysis & Condition Monitoring Certifications:
* Oil Monitoring Analyst (OMA I, II) – STLE.
* ISO 18436-4 & 18436-5 Certified Condition Monitoring Analyst (including Vibration & Oil Analysis).
* Filtration & Contamination Control Certifications:
* Noria Machinery Lubrication & Oil Analysis Training.
Practical Experience & Core Skills (Essential)
Technical Expertise in Lubrication & Oil Analysis
* Strong understanding of lubricant selection, contamination control, and fluid performance.
* Experience interpreting oil analysis reports and diagnosing lubrication-related failures, including the use of portable particle counters and patch testing.
* Knowledge of ISO 4406 (Oil Cleanliness Code) and best practices in fluid maintenance.
* Familiarity with hydraulic, gearbox, and turbine lubrication systems.
* Hands-on experience with oil filtration technologies and contamination control strategies.
* Understanding of root cause failure analysis (RCFA) related to oil degradation.
* Ability to troubleshoot and advise on filtration upgrades & maintenance strategies.
Sales & Business Acumen
* Proven track record in technical sales, ideally within lubrication, oil analysis, or industrial solutions.
* Ability to sell technical solutions to non-technical customers, simplifying complex concepts.
* Strong hunter mentality, comfortable with conquest business development and securing new clients.
* Experience in customer retention, upselling, and cross-selling solutions.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility.
* Confidence in delivering product demonstrations and technical presentations.
* Ability to handle objections and articulate competitive advantages effectively.
Self-motivated and results-driven, with a proactive approach to sales and technical problem-solving.
Strong analytical mindset, capable of interpreting data from oil analysis reports.
Comfortable working on-site with customers in industrial environments.
Willingness to travel and represent the company at trade shows, networking events, and customer sites.
