Newmedica is the leading provider of NHS funded and private Ophthalmology services in the UK and we are growing at pace, aiming to achieve national coverage in the next five years. Everything we do is guided by our commitment to deliver personal patient care so we are looking for Clinical Partners to join us in a Joint Venture Partnership who feel as passionately about patient care as we do. In the Joint Venture Partnership, you will be a salaried employee, director of the business as well as earning dividends and holding an equity stake in your business. You will need to have availability to work 1 or 2 days a week.

About the Role
As a Partner of the local ophthalmology practice, the Clinical Joint Venture Partner manages the practice by delivering continually improving clinical excellence. Through the training and development of your staff to the highest professional standards, you will provide efficient care of the highest quality for patients which in turn will contribute to creating a successful business.
Working in collaboration with your Operations, Partner, you have responsibility for the day-to-day running of the practice, ensuring clinical safety and excellent care which will lead to its long-term growth and success.
As a Clinical Partner you will use your clinical knowledge and credibility to engender a culture of clinical excellence. Your aim is to provide patients with the highest degree of professional care and service. Your passion for clinical excellence will be infectious, as will your drive and energy.
Motivating your team with a hands-on approach is a key function of your role, as is providing the leadership and direction required in a busy environment. You have the autonomy to run your business as you would like to, whilst relying on expert support and guidance from Newmedica.
About You Essentials
o Consultant ophthalmologist, with current GMC registration with entry on the Specialist Register for ophthalmology
o A minimum of three years’ experience working at consultant level within an NHS hospital eye department, including at least one year in a substantive consultant post
o Ability to deliver high volume cataract operations with a sub-specialty
o Confident with enhanced lenses
o Demonstrable clinical excellence
o Experience of managing multi-disciplinary clinical teams
o Experience of incident and complaint management
o Experience of clinical audit
The Newmedica Ophthalmology Joint Venture is typically a 3-4 partner company. The shareholders’ loan each partner is to contribute is currently £50,000 per partner, which is repayable after 3 years with the opportunity to accrue on this loan.
