The Company This company is one of the UK's largest food wholesale and catering companies. Their customers cover all sectors, from hotels and restaurants, to schools and leisure facilities. With over 40 years of industry experience, they have amassed multi-million-pound contracts with companies and organisations across the private and public sectors. The Role Working within this organisation's large technical services team, you will work alongside a team of category technologists. You will provide support with the development, introduction, and continuous performance monitoring of their own-brand and branded products. The environment is dynamic and always evolving. This diverse role will see you getting involved in a huge mixture of responsibilities, including but limited to: Working with new product development, attending production trials and pre-production runs and writing reports on your findings Approving artwork and labelling for own-label product packaging Overseeing supplier compliance. Support with technical food analysis and product testing compiling reports on whether the product meets the specification Liaising with customers and suppliers in the event of a major product issue Technical and administrative duties associated with a busy team of technologists The nature of the role means you will have the opportunity to travel regularly to supplier sites across the UK and potentially overseas. The training is excellent, with a large amount of ‘on the job' training. You will start within one product category but eventually build your knowledge across a broad range of categories. The opportunities for progression within a large and established company are excellent; with the ultimate aim of giving you the exposure to be ready to progress to be a technical manager. Requirements: A degree in food, nutrition, life science or other technical discipline Strong planning and organisational skills with keen attention to detail A passion for food with a desire to learn about all aspects of food across many categories Good communication skills A valid UK driving licence or learning to drive
