The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.
Hourly rate of pay: £15.52 - £16.58
Temporary maternity cover until 4th January 2026.
This is a 39-week sessional post i.e., working hours will be during school term time plus in-service days.

Monday - Thursday, 08:30-15:30
Friday, 08:30-12:30

North Berwick High School is a secondary school in the beautiful coastal town of North Berwick, which received an excellent HMIE inspection report in June 2020. The current school roll is 1048. Expansion work to create more classrooms and improved facilities has recently been completed. Strong links have been developed with the local community and a broad range of extracurricular activities are on offer. The successful candidate will be line managed by the Faculty Leaders of Support for Learning and will work across the Guidance and Support for Learning departments as follows:
* Work with the Guidance team to support our drive to increase school attendance and reduce anxiety, supporting vulnerable learners to engage positively in learning.
* Work within the Support for Learning team, supporting young people directly with assessment arrangements.
* Spend time in our new Learning Hub provision, supporting an identified cohort to complete National Qualifications.
As part of the Pupil Support Team, provide support to secondary-aged pupils (including Pupil Support Base) with a range of social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties in accordance with agreed aims, objectives, and standards.

Relevant Qualifications
A minimum of SVQ1/Standard Grade General level English/Maths or National 4 English/Maths or Literacy/Numeracy or Intermediate 1 Communication/Numeracy and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills, and competencies gained through relevant experience.
