Reports to: Service Manager
Location: Mount Lodge, Eastbourne, BN21, East Sussex
Hours: 40 hours per week

Role Overview: Support clients in initiating and/or progressing their recovery journeys to achieve their aspirations and potential in life. Assist the Service Manager in maintaining a therapeutic culture and programme by facilitating therapeutic groups, delivering individual key work sessions, and performing administrative duties including report writing. Participate fully in training and supervision sessions.
Primary Tasks
1. Participate in the life of the service as a community member in line with CHT’s Psychologically Informed Environment model.
2. Facilitate various groups under the supervision of the Service Manager and Community Psychologist.
3. Co-produce clear and structured recovery, risk management, and move-on plans with clients.
4. Build supportive and therapeutic relationships with clients through dialogue.
5. Administer medication according to CHT’s policies and procedures.
6. Maintain excellent working relationships with Care Teams and Families.
Therapeutic Practice
1. Ensure the service runs in adherence to CHT’s model of service delivery.
2. Support clients both practically and emotionally in informal and formal settings.
3. Facilitate various groups and meet with clients for key work sessions.
4. Aid clients in integrating into the community.
5. Promote high levels of client participation in service development and implementation.
6. Attend review meetings for key work clients and prepare progress reports.
7. Work with clients to develop and work towards their recovery plans.
8. Encourage clients to engage with activities within the service and the wider community.
9. Participate in formal reflective practice sessions run by the Community Psychologist.
10. Participate in CHT’s internal training programme and periodic masterclasses.
11. Administer and support clients with their medication in line with CHT’s procedures.
12. Promote safeguarding and work with an understanding of Mental Capacity and Dignity.
13. Promote equality and diversity in practice.
Administration
1. Share administrative duties including writing up handovers and completing medication records.
2. Lead certain administrative roles as directed by the Service Manager.
3. Keep all written records up to date and clearly formulated.
4. Provide regular reports of client progress using outcome measures.
5. Coordinate the collection and support in analysis of outcome measures.
External Relations
1. Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with Care Teams and Families.
2. Organise regular meetings with Care Teams to discuss client progress.
3. Develop links in the wider community to support clients in engaging in meaningful activities.

Essential Requirements
1. Experience of working with or lived experience of complex mental health conditions.
2. Experience of working within or lived experience of a recovery-oriented approach to supporting adults with complex presentations.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
1. Understanding of the recovery approach and support requirements for people with mental health conditions.
2. Ability to establish effective working relationships with clients.
3. Good interpersonal skills including active listening and clear communication.
4. Ability to respond appropriately to challenging behaviour.
5. Good written, numeracy, and administrative skills.
6. Knowledge of Health & Safety issues related to working in a residential service.
7. Knowledge of statutory and voluntary services within mental health.
8. Ability to maintain constructive relationships with clients and external agencies.
