Project Engineer | East Midlands | Permanent | Up to £40,000 | Company Vehicle | Fuel Card
Cherry are looking for an experienced Project Engineer, with excellent electrical skills. You will demonstrate a robust background in Electrical & Fire Installations and a proven track record in projects & Small Works. Exceptional communication, leadership, and strategic skills are imperative for this role.
Responsibilities:
1. Commissioning fire detection and associated systems, ensuring adherence to specified project requirements.
2. Maintaining continuous communication with the Project manager responsible for project delivery.
3. Executing necessary works at customer premises in alignment with the Company’s quality standards.
4. Effectively communicating with customers to ensure a comprehensive understanding of system and site status, particularly with regard to system defects impacting its proper functioning.
5. Providing technical support and guidance to allocated Engineers.
6. Coordinating with administrators to ensure commitments are met and reviewing a programme of works and RAMs with competence.
7. Ensuring timely and legible completion of all company paperwork in line with Company requirements, as well as the paperwork of allocated engineers.
8. Reviewing cause & effects matrix and implementing programming accordingly.
9. Collaborating with the Line Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the Engineering Department.
10. Demonstrating cause & effects programming to the client and line manager via software and live tests.
11. Planning own work and executing minor additions to existing installations.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Hold qualifications of the understanding of BS5839.
2. Time served qualified electrician or an understanding of the IET wiring regulations to BS7671 to 18th edition.
3. Proficient in commissioning a fire detection and alarm system in line with manufacturers’ recommendations.
4. Ensuring that installed drawings match the finished project and communicating any variances to the Project Manager.
5. Fully testing every aspect of the installed system in line with manufacturers’ recommendations and project specifications.
6. Identifying all types of cable associated with fire detection and alarm systems and correctly testing and terminating cable in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions.
