We are seeking a Head Baker to lead the reopening of the Firmdale Bakery. Based in Brentford, the bakery will specialise in crafting high-end artisan breads and pastries, supplying top-tier baked goods to customers who appreciate quality and craftsmanship.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee the daily production of artisan baked goods, ensuring quality, consistency, and excellence.
* Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all baking and store operations.
* Recruit, train, and lead a dedicated bakery team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
* Manage staffing, including scheduling, payroll, holidays, and performance oversight.
* Maintain and control inventory levels, ensuring efficient supply chain management and cost control.
* Uphold the highest quality standards, ensuring all products meet taste, appearance, and freshness expectations.
* Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations, conducting regular safety training and inspections.
What you Need:
* A motivated and dynamic leader with at least 3 years of experience in a bakery management role.
* Proven expertise in artisan baking, with strong knowledge of recipes, techniques, and food safety standards.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills to oversee all aspects of bakery operations.
* A team player who is passionate about high-quality food and thrives in a collaborative environment.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, with flexibility for early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
* A degree in Culinary Arts, Business Management, or a related field is preferred.
* Food safety certification is a plus.
