To support the delivery of innovative cancer services, an opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, experienced, creative, and forward-thinking individual to join our team as an Advanced Practitioner Treatment Section Lead Radiographer.
The post holder will play a leading role in the development, delivery, and evaluation of current and new services and provide expert clinical practice, advice, and support to the MDT. They will develop the work, patient pathway, and staff and participate in clinical decisions regarding patient management within the multidisciplinary team, using expert knowledge to ensure the accurate planning and delivery of complex radiotherapy treatment.
Candidates will need to possess excellent leadership, management, and communication skills. Applicants must also demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, be self-motivated, but also work as part of a team. Applications are invited from professionally mature, enthusiastic, and innovative registered therapeutic radiographers.
Main duties of the job
The Advanced Practice Treatment Section Lead will be expected to provide expert clinical practice, advice, and support relevant to this area of practice. They will be expected to develop the work, patient pathway, and staff within their area and to seek to continually improve the service, whilst providing for the capacity and demand issues of the department.

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
Essential
* BSc in therapeutic radiography or equivalent
* Relevant Master's degree or evidence of post qualification education & development (may be completed on appointment)
* Study in management/leadership (may be completed on appointment)
* Health Profession Council (HCPC) registration as a Therapeutic Radiographer
* Participation in audit/clinical governance
* Knowledge and application of the regulations related to obtaining informed consent
Desirable
* Understanding of clinical and research governance
Experience
Essential
* Significant post qualification experience across the radiotherapy pathway at advanced level including IGRT/IMRT/Adaptive RT/SABR
* Significant clinical experience and expertise in Radiotherapy treatment delivery
* Leadership skills and experience
* Evidence of previous research undertaken
* Experience of managing multiple priorities
* Evidence of developing staff by training and delegation
* Excellent communicator, able to provide information and support about cancer, and communicate highly distressing, sensitive information to patients and relatives/carers
* Ability to influence and negotiate with all staff grades, crossing professional boundaries, with the ability to lead a team through times of change
* Ability to produce written reports and professional publications
* Reflective and self-appraising
