As Health & Safety Environmental Manager, you will be responsible for:
1. Support both management teams in achieving health, safety, and environmental KPIs and performance objectives.
2. Develop and recommend policies, standards, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation.
3. Attend and facilitate internal health and safety meetings for both DGTT and DGV as required.
4. Actively participate in the group-wide health and safety committee.
5. Develop and implement an SHE action plan to drive a health and safety culture, ensuring full compliance with H&S legislation and environmental standards.
6. Conduct and complete site-related risk assessments with Site Managers, identifying and reducing key risks.
7. Conduct detailed accident investigations and recommend solutions to prevent reoccurrences.
8. Analyse health and safety training needs and produce a national training matrix by role.
9. Develop a national infrastructure to support all health and safety-related training, including delivering in-house training programs as required.
10. Undertake periodic site inspections, report findings, and make recommendations for improvement.
11. Collaborate with the group facilities team to develop a national infrastructure for site compliance and maintenance.
12. Support the implementation of infrastructure for assets with alternative propulsion systems.
13. Act on own initiative within given guidelines, seeking advice from specialist departments when necessary.
The successful Health & Safety Environmental Manager will:
1. Be a confident communicator and have experience in developing good relationships with a range of staff and customers.
2. Be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work and have excellent organisational skills.
3. Have good IT skills, with an understanding of Microsoft packages.
4. Minimum of two years experience in a Health and Safety Managerial role.
5. NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
6. Skills in project planning and data analysis.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and effective at managing change.
8. Comprehensive knowledge of UK environmental, health, and safety legislation.
9. Full, valid UK driving licence.
