Job Description
Work assignment involves applying technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions for Air Combat Training Systems (specifically the Misawa, Osan, Kunsan, Kadena, Interim Training System (MOKKITS) pods) Operations. It involves daily work on the flight line. Hours will be based on the local flying schedule, as well as any exercises or surges as directed by the customer and coordinated through the site manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
* Transport, install, and remove pods, including ancillary equipment
* Verify proper subsystem electro-mechanical interfaces with aircraft
* Assist with periodic, preventive, and corrective AS/Pod maintenance (including ancillary equipment), as well as assist with GS/RRU maintenance as required
* Respond to notification of malfunctioning Airborne Subsystems/pods, including applicable ancillary equipment and RRUs
* Assist with system installation, preparation for use and reshipment
* Identify and report corrections/improvements to technical data, product quality/material deficiencies, and supply discrepancies
* Conduct inventories and maintain accountability records for Airborne Subsystems/pods, including ancillary and support equipment
* Perform equipment status reporting, as well as maintenance data collection/job documentation
* Assist with AS/pod installation & removal training, including ancillary and support equipment; assist with maintaining/updating training documentation as required
* Assist in performing corrosion prevention and control
* Monitor Facilities, TOs, Supply Accounts/Stock, Support Equipment, & Vehicles
* Ensure compliance with BSEn Quality Control and Safety Programs
* Other duties as assigned
Minimum Education/Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Successful completion of an accredited Technical Apprentice Program in Electronics or equivalent military training and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience at the journeyman level highly desired
Additional Requirements:
* Physical ability to assist in lifting, maneuvering, and carrying ACTS/ACMI pods in a variety of environments, including shop, warehouse, bay, and flight-line
* US Citizen // Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one is required.
* Must possess a valid driver’s license
* Ability to speak, read, and write English
* Must be able to travel to other countries in support of TDY operations
