As a Geography Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and dynamic lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will be expected to inspire students, encourage critical thinking, and cultivate a passion for geographical studies.
Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality geography lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum.
* Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and challenged.
* Assess, record, and report on student's progress in line with school policies.
* Develop and implement strategies to cater to students with varying abilities and learning styles.
* Encourage active participation and engagement in lessons through interactive and innovative teaching methods.
* Support the development of student's geographical skills, including fieldwork and map-reading techniques.
* Participate in school-wide initiatives, extracurricular activities, and field trips to enrich student's learning experiences.
* Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to curriculum development.
* Maintain high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement in line with school policies.
* Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and stakeholders regarding student's progress and well-being.
Minimum Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Geography or a related subject.
* Experience teaching Geography at Key Stages 3 and 4 (experience at Key Stage 5 is desirable but not essential).
* A commitment to inclusive education and a passion for supporting students of all abilities.
* Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an engaging learning environment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated teaching team.
* A proactive and reflective approach to teaching, with a willingness to engage in continuous professional development.
