Job Description
Employees can be based at either of their main project sites: West Burton, Nottinghamshire or Culham, Oxfordshire (with a preference for West Burton). This role requires successful completion of an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including DBS checks for criminal convictions.
The Role
Looking for a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-impact, globally significant project? Join them as Head of Programme Management, Engineering Delivery, where you'll lead teams of project and technical professionals in creating an integrated design for a prototype fusion energy plant.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Leading a team across all program sectors, providing guidance, leadership, and fostering professional growth.
* Offering strategic advice to senior executives on the engineering program’s progress and delivery.
* Overseeing internal project managers and delivery teams to ensure successful program execution.
* Managing the day-to-day operations of the engineering program on behalf of the Programme Directors.
* Conducting value engineering exercises to prioritize tasks within the program, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and quality standards are met.
* Resolving any obstacles to program delivery and identifying solutions to support project goals.

Qualifications
Ideal candidates will possess:
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven record of leading high-performance teams.
* Experience managing large technical or engineering programs (over £100M).
* Expertise in project and program delivery, including financial oversight of substantial budgets.
* Appropriate qualifications, such as MSP Foundation, Practitioner, or Advanced Practitioner.
* The ability to work effectively in complex, uncertain environments.
* Experience working with senior stakeholders and external partners, ideally within publicly funded projects.
* A background in engineering equipment or facilities delivery through industry procurement.
* A commitment to ethical business practices and integrity.
