Role: Nurse Unit Manager

Hours: Full-Time, 44 hours per week
Salary: £22.60 per hour + Paid Breaks
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Unit Manager to join our esteemed nursing home in Plymouth. In this vital role, you will oversee the clinical operations within your designated unit, ensuring high-quality care and support for residents. You will act as a role model, inspiring and leading a team of healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional standards of care.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Leadership: Oversee and manage the clinical practices in the unit, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
2. Staff Supervision: Lead, motivate, and manage a team of nurses and care staff to deliver person-centered care.
3. Care Planning: Assess, develop, and implement individualized care plans that meet the needs of each resident.
4. Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits and ensure the unit adheres to health and safety regulations, CQC standards, and company policies.
5. Training and Development: Provide mentorship, support, and training to staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
6. Family Liaison: Build strong relationships with residents’ families, addressing concerns and providing updates about their loved ones.
7. Budget Management: Monitor and manage the unit’s resources, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising care quality.
Essential Requirements
1. Qualifications: Active NMC PIN (Registered Nurse - Adult)
2. Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a senior nursing role, preferably in a care home or similar setting.
3. Skills: Strong clinical knowledge, leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills.
4. Compliance: Knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory frameworks.
