Overview: We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice. You will provide technical support for all users of the ICT network. This job role will support all hardware (including but not limited to PCs, laptops, projectors, printers, interactive boards, and Chromebooks), software, operating systems (Windows and ChromeOS, and network infrastructure items. Duties: Provide excellent first line IT support to the user community Work with the Senior ICT Technician and Network Manager to resolve ICT helpdesk issues in a timely and efficient manner Carry out a programme of repairs and maintenance in order to ensure the working order of ICT related resources Assist school staff in configuring workstations and systems to ensure effectiveness Adding and updating inventory records of all ICT equipment Assisting with the implementation of ICT projects and training users in the use of new equipment Work safely and make Health and Safety observations on behalf of and make reports to the Network Manager Assist with the maintenance and transport of Chromebooks and their trollies between lessons and classrooms Desired skills: Some pre-existing IT skills with knowledge on Windows and computer hardware and components, and Google systems (Gmail/Drive/Docs etc) Reliable and able to adapt with new situations or change Good at listening and comfortable when communicating with new people Enthusiastic, willing to learn new skills and help others Team player with ability to work independently and proactively Entry requirements: 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 4 (A-C) in any subject GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3 (D or above) Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme. If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
