The role…
As a Business Architect at Radius, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our strategic vision and operational execution within the broader context of Enterprise Architecture.
By integrating business strategies with enterprise architecture frameworks, you will create cohesive blueprints that encompass not only business processes but also IT systems and organizational structures.
You will analyse and model current and future states of business operations, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
By collaborating with stakeholders across various departments, you will ensure that technological and structural changes are in harmony with the business objectives.
Your work ensures that the company's resources are effectively utilized, risks are mitigated, and business objectives are achieved, ultimately driving sustainable growth and competitive advantage within the enterprise architecture framework.
At Radius, it's worth noting that our Enterprise Architecture efforts are still in their infancy, presenting both challenges and opportunities. As you settle in, you may be asked to expand beyond typical Business Architect duties. For example, to lead an Architecture Review Board (ARB), and other enterprise architecture tasks.
This role reports to our Director of Enterprise Architecture and is based from our state of the art offices in Crewe, Cheshire.
Your responsibilities will include…
1. Documenting and Analysing Business Models and Processes: Utilizing techniques like the Business Model Canvas to provide a comprehensive overview of the organization's value proposition, customer segments, revenue streams, and other critical components. Conducting thorough analysis of existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement. Designing optimized processes that align with the organization's strategic goals.
2. Stakeholder Collaboration and Change Management: Engaging with stakeholders across various departments to gather requirements, understand business needs, and ensure alignment of projects and initiatives with overall business objectives. Providing support during the implementation of new processes, systems, and organizational changes, managing change, mitigating risks, and ensuring effective integration of new initiatives into business operations.
3. Strategic Planning and Alignment: Developing and maintaining business architecture models that reflect the strategic direction of the organization. Creating roadmaps to ensure that all business initiatives and projects are aligned with the company's long-term goals and strategies.
4. Governance and Compliance: Establishing and maintaining governance frameworks to ensure that business processes and projects comply with internal policies, standards, and external regulations. This involves setting standards, conducting architecture reviews, and monitoring adherence to architectural principles.
5. Business Case Creation: Developing detailed business cases for new initiatives, including cost-benefit analysis, risk assessment, and resource requirements. Presenting business cases to senior management to secure approval and funding for proposed projects.
6. Architecture Design and Blueprinting: Creating and maintaining detailed architecture blueprints that define the structure, integration, and deployment of IT systems within the organization. This involves developing models that illustrate how different components of the IT landscape fit together and support business objectives.
7. Technology and Solution Evaluation: Assessing and recommending technologies, platforms, and tools that align with the organization's strategic goals. This includes evaluating emerging technologies, conducting proof-of-concepts, and ensuring that chosen solutions integrate seamlessly with existing systems.
