AWE is now looking for a Principal Engineering Manager, with both project-facing and operational experience, who can contribute to the success of our new capabilities at Principal Engineer level, as part of a wider leadership team. We're embarking on a large construction programme of complex, high-hazard facilities and pre-operational engineering teams are being formed to prepare for handover of the new buildings – ensuring that they transition into operation as smoothly as possible.
Location: Aldermaston, Berkshire
Package: £62,020 - £80,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)
This will give you the opportunity to:
1. Represent the Engineering (Production & Assets) organisation at the concept and detailed design stages, influencing to ensure that the buildings and processes delivered are supportable for their demanded availability.
2. Develop and deliver the Asset Engineering, Production Engineering and Maintenance Delivery resource plans for new facilities, leading these teams as their members are recruited and ensuring that construction and commissioning activities are exploited for knowledge transfer.
3. Engage with the leaders of the other supporting functions as part of the operational readiness process.
We are particularly interested to hear from candidates with experience in some, or all of the following:
1. Previous experience leading multi-discipline teams through the engineering lifecycle.
2. Asset management and reliability engineering experience.
3. Ability to articulate technical complexities to a range of stakeholders.
4. Previous experience of delivering a reliability engineering / maintenance capability in a highly-regulated environment.
5. An understanding of and ability to apply legislation and standards relevant to safety within engineering.
6. Excellent interpersonal, engagement, leadership and presentation skills.
7. Willingness and aptitude to develop less experienced engineers.
8. Degree qualification in an engineering discipline or proven experience.
9. Professional registration at IEng or CEng level or equivalent experience.
