About the apprenticeship role…
This role is an Apprentice Project Manager based in Telford with our project team. You will study a Degree Apprenticeship in Professional Practice in Project Management to achieve a BSc (Hons) degree. This will take around 3.5 years to complete, and you will attend our university partner for your studies in blocks. You will work 40 hours per week in a hybrid pattern with time spent in the office, on-site, and working from home.
During your apprenticeship, you will learn from our current Project Managers, gaining insights into all aspects of the role and applying your knowledge to our live projects to support the Delivery teams in delivering a growing workload for our clients. You will collaborate with your team and your Principal Project Manager to learn how to deliver projects throughout their lifecycles. Our sites and projects are focused on construction and civil engineering linked to water infrastructure.
What your day could look like…
* Learning what delivery and financial performance looks like and how to monitor and review this to help identify issues and work to put this right.
* Understanding cost reconciliation and working with both commercial and finance teams to ensure cost implications are covered.
* Learning about our internal design team and the role they play in projects, working with them to meet client expectations.
* Understanding stakeholders and developing the ability to work with different types involved in the projects to ensure successful delivery.
* Learning about preconstruction and ECI (early contractor involvement) phases within a project and gaining experience in creating and maintaining project programmes during these phases.
* Working with the delivery teams throughout the construction process and lifecycle of the project, gaining experience in project management to ensure successful delivery.
* Developing an excellent awareness of health and safety and learning to become accountable for safety and compliance auditing.
About you…
You will need the following to be eligible for this apprenticeship:
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at a grade 4 or above.
* Level 3 qualifications such as:
o 3x A Levels
o A T Level qualification
o A BTEC qualification
This apprenticeship is a September 2025 start and is open to all who have the right qualifications, so if you are still finishing your school/college studies, we welcome you to apply for this role with your predicted grades.
Due to the nature of the role, a full driving licence would be desirable. If you are currently learning to drive, we may be able to support financially towards this, dependent on meeting our criteria.
This apprenticeship would particularly suit someone with good digital skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. We would also like you to demonstrate good written skills and effective communication. Being super organised with good attention to detail is important, as is the ability to work in a team as well as independently. Good and developing financial/commercial/analytical skills would also benefit this role.
For this apprenticeship, you need to be absolutely committed to becoming a Project Manager and studying for your degree – you must be sure this is the career for you and have spent time researching it and studying/have studied the right qualifications.
