Long-term Teachers is seeking SEN Supply Teachers to work in specialist and mainstream schools. We welcome applications from qualified and unqualified teachers, as well as those with experience in SEN support roles.
About the Role:
As a SEN Supply Teacher, you’ll play a key role in providing high-quality education and support to students with diverse learning needs. This flexible role allows you to work on a short-term or long-term basis, adapting to different school settings and student requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEN - these will be pre-planned by the regular class teacher
2. Support students with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and complex needs
3. Use strategies such as phonics-based learning (Read Write Inc, experience beneficial) to support literacy development
4. Foster a safe and positive learning environment, managing classroom behaviour effectively
5. Work collaboratively with school staff to ensure the best outcomes for students
6. Adapt lesson plans and resources to meet individual student needs
7. Implement safeguarding policies and follow school procedures
What We’re Looking For:
1. A passion for working with children with special educational needs
2. Teaching experience (QTS is desirable but not essential - unqualified teachers with relevant experience are welcome to apply)
3. Knowledge or experience with phonics-based learning would be beneficial
4. Strong communication and adaptability skills
5. The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
6. Experience working in education, childcare or SEN support would be advantageous
