Permanent Nursery Practitioner
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our team working in Islington. The successful candidate will need to be flexible and able to work at both locations, while holding a Childcare and Education qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 3.
Role Details:
Hours: Full-time, term-time only (35 weeks per year)
Working Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM – applicants must be available for both shift patterns
Salary: £27,452 per annum (pro-rata for term-time only!)Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Supporting Child Development:
Plan, organise, deliver, and evaluate engaging activities and learning experiences for children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), in partnership with parents.
Observe and support children’s overall development, ensuring each child reaches their full potential.
Serve as a key person, updating and extending children's learning journeys through observations, assessments, and activity planning, in collaboration with the nursery's Early Years Professional.
Foster positive relationships with children and their families while fulfilling all key person responsibilities.
Use the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum to plan appropriately for each child’s development.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children’s individual needs, abilities, and progress, using this information as a foundation for future planning.
Stay informed of the latest child development trends and the Early Years Curriculum to ensure high standards of care and learning.Collaboration and Professional Development:
Attend staff meetings, planning sessions, and relevant training events to further personal development and contribute to the team.
Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with EYFS advisory teachers, area SENCOs, and other agencies involved in supporting the nursery.About You:
NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education (or equivalent)
Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with children, families, and staff
A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development
