Scope:
The main responsibility of the Toolmaker is to ensure maximum up time of injection moulds within the manufacturing divisions. As directed by the Tooling Engineer you will perform PPM, troubleshoot and attend breakdowns, utilising the resources available on site to carry out repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensuring tools and ancillary equipment are maintained to produce components that meet specification.
2. Diagnosis of tooling failures and component quality issues.
3. Assessment of tooling following any unplanned downtime.
4. Daily liaison with Production Managers and Supervisors to highlight any potential tooling or component quality related issues
5. Daily updates to the Tooling Engineer regarding tooling status
6. Liase with sub-contract Toolmakers regarding tooling repairs
7. Managing the stock of consumable items and updating the Tooling Engineer when required
8. To comply diligently with all administrative and procedural requirements of the job including:
9. Daily update of tooling status spreadsheets to ensure visibility of tooling status within the organisation
10. Adherence to tooling related SOP's
11. Completion and maintenance of appropriate records.
