Join the Civil Works Alliance (CWA) as a Temporary Works Design Manager for the Sizewell C Project!
Are you a seasoned professional with a passion for engineering and technical excellence? The Civil Works Alliance (CWA) is searching for a dedicated Temporary Works Design Manager to join our Engineering and Technical Team for the groundbreaking Sizewell C project. This role is integral to ensuring the technical delivery of complex designs, emphasizing construction feasibility and delivering sustainable, low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes.
About Sizewell C: Sizewell C is a 3.2-gigawatt power station, set to generate reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. Our project, supported by EDF and His Majesty's Government, aims to deliver a vital piece of the UK's energy future.
Your Role: As a Temporary Works Design Manager, you will:
Engage with the project team to develop and implement temporary work design proposals.
Ensure designs meet all requirements, including interface coordination with permanent works and construction acceptance.
Manage design processes, documentation, and risk assessments.
Lead value engineering processes and support digital project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage temporary work designs, ensuring buildability and budget adherence.
Coordinate with internal and external design teams and subcontractors.
Provide expert advice on design and construction feasibility.
Maintain a focus on safety and ensure compliance with project schedules.
What We’re Looking For:
A degree-qualified professional with in depth relevant experience, including 2 years in a leading TW design management role.
Proven experience in major project construction, specifically in design production and coordination for civil, structural, and tunnelling works.
Strong skills in 3D and 4D modelling software, BIM, and design review processes.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership capabilities.
Valid CSCS card and a track record of delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
