Job Description:
As a Foster Care Specialist at ISP, you will play a vital role in providing support to foster parents within our Integrated Services Programme. This position involves regular supervision of allocated foster parents, enabling and monitoring their practice to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct support of foster parents within a realistic caseload
- Provide regular supervision to allocated foster parents, enabling and monitoring their practice and ensuring their compliance with regulatory standards
- Work in partnership with children, young people and foster parents, and other professionals, local authorities and stakeholders to enable full participation in assessment, planning, review and decision making relating to safeguarding and child protection
About Us:
ISP was set up in 1987 by a small but passionate group of foster parents who recognised the need for specialist support for looked after children. Our Integrated Service Programme provides a range of support services to children and foster parents, including social workers, fostering advisors, teachers and therapists. We take a collaborative approach to foster care, working closely with foster parents to promote meaningful and relevant supervision of placements.
Requirements:
- Qualified and experienced Social Worker or equivalent
- Enthusiastic, committed and appreciative of the role of the foster parent and their skills
- Experience of working with foster parents as professional colleagues and working within a multi-discipline arena
- Full driving licence and unrestricted access to your own car
- Excellent report writing skills and ability to work to strict deadlines
- Comprehensive working knowledge of all relevant legislation pertaining to children's services
