Job summary Occupational Health Practitioners, Band 7 1 x 35 hours/week - Primarily based at Tameside & Glossop NHS FT 1 x 37.5 hours/week - Primarily based at Stockport NHS FT An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic, motivated Occupational Health Practitioner to join our friendly team in the Staff Wellbeing and Occupational Health Service of Stockport and Tameside NHS Foundation Trust. The post is based at Tameside Hospital, but will also involve cross site working, travel to some outside NHS sites and companies for whom we provide an Occupational Health service. The ideal candidate would have good leadership, management experience and skills. This role would be ideal for an experienced nurse or healthcare professional. Due to the variety of the work carried out, you would obtain extensive experience in all aspects of Occupational Health. It is important that you have excellent verbal and written communication skills including confident use of IT packages. Main duties of the job To assist in the provision of a comprehensive occupational health service aimed at protecting, promoting and maintaining the physical and mental well-being of all employees. To provides specialist advice, guidance and support to Trust managers and staff, in accordance with legislation and local policies/procedures/protocols. Provides line management of junior staff in the Occupational Health Nursing Team and offer support to the administrative team. Provides management support for the Occupational Health Nurse Manager in the maintenance and development of the service, as well as improvements in quality standards in accordance with relevant and national guidelines and in leading and advancing clinical practice in line with DoH guidelines and legislation and provide all aspects of nursing care including consultation, advice, education, testing and immunisations where appropriate and in accordance with patient group directives and departmental protocols. Undertakes clinical audit and service evaluation programmes. Provides specialist knowledge in delivering a safe and effective immunisation programme for the Trust and external clients, seasonal flu programme, Covid and Inoculation Injuries, working within the boundaries of Department of Health Guidelines, The Green Book, Trust Policy and local protocols.
