Senior Mental Health Practitioner Learning Disability CAMHS SW

We are looking for an enthusiastic Learning Disability Nurse, Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker, with experience of working with children and or adults with a learning disability, interested in expanding their career by joining our Learning Disability CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service), based at Swindon CAMHS.
This role involves working with young people experiencing a wide variety of mental health difficulties and a learning disability, sometimes with complex social situations and neurodevelopmental challenges, so there's a real opportunity for you to make a difference.
In this role, you'll be undertaking the assessment of the young person's mental health needs, collaborative formulation and providing the treatment plan drawing on a variety of interventions and involving multi-agency networking.
We'll offer you in house training in a number of evidence-based interventions. There will also be the opportunity for further training based on individual learning needs. We have good professional support in our service and regular professional regional meetings, including regular team safeguarding supervision.

Main duties of the job
In this role, you'll be contributing to the triaging process for children and young people with an established learning difficulty, experiencing mental health needs. You'll be assessing the mental health component of their experience and delivering evidence based interventions.
We work closely with families to build care plans and there's a lot of multi-agency networking involved, as you'll be in contact with schools. the local authority, play organisations and charities.

We have a number of specialist clinics such as The Eating Disorder Service, Neurodevelopmental Clinic and Family Therapy clinic, and we like to work with staff to help them gain experience

Job responsibilities
The main duties of the job include:
* Shared formulation
* Delivery and/or oversight of collaborative treatment plan using evidence-based interventions
* Support and supervision of colleagues
* Multi-agency working
You will be responsible for:
* Compliance with professional registration practice
* Safe practice in accordance with Trust policies and procedures
* Addressing safeguarding concerns were appropriate or necessary
You will be supported by excellent team knowledge and experience on a formal/informal basis. Clinical and managerial supervision are augmented with profession specific supervision as required with systemic/psychodynamic opportunities.
We are investing heavily in training, preceptorships to develop staff skills. We have a thorough induction process, and you will be paired with other new starters as you begin to find your feet.

Person Specification
Qualifications - Academic/Professional
* Registered Nurse (Mental Health), Registered Nurse (Learning Disability), Occupational Therapist or Social Worker.
* Registration with relevant professional body.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Teaching, mentoring or leadership training
Knowledge Requirements
* Knowledge of Mental Health, Neurodevelopmental conditions and Learning Disabilities.
* To have ability to assess client need, both mental health, health and social needs.
* To have knowledge and understanding of the research process.
* To have a working knowledge of the SEND reforms, and health contribution, The Children Act, The Mental Health Act and other associated systems
Experie
* Experience of working with children and young people with neuro developmental and/or Learning Disability and their families and carers.
* Experience of planning and providing intervention of clients across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and inpatient settings.
* Experience of supervision of staff.
* To have the ability to complete clinical risk assessments.
* Experience of working as a qualified clinician within CAMHS.
* Knowledge, skills and experience of working with a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Framework.
* To be able to part of medication management process (RMN, RN LD).
