Cambridge University's Estates Division is seeking an Asbestos Manager to lead the e Estates Division's Asbestos Team. As part of wider Safety and Compliance Team, you will be responsible for the ongoing risk management of the estate regarding asbestos, ensuring our asbestos management data is accurate and available to all necessary parties. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced staff and play a crucial role in the statutory compliance field. About you: In order to succeed in this role, you will join us with: P405 asbestos Management in Buildings, P402 surveying and sampling NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health & Safety or similar Comprehensive working knowledge of health and safety legislation in respect of asbestos and construction Management Experience of health & safety in an environment with Complex multi-disciplinary issues and complex building portfolio ISO Internal auditor qualifications Ability to work within and contribute to a wide variety of teams, departments, stakeholders and suppliers Professionals The Role: To act as the Appointed Person under the Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) for the asbestos management of the universities operational, residential and non- operational portfolios. Lead the Asbestos Team to ensure the university meets its objectives for the management of asbestos, allocating tasks, setting team and individual objectives and monitoring team performance. To be responsible for the ownership, development, and implementation of the Asbestos Management Plans, ensuring that University meets its duties under the Control of Asbestos Regulations for domestic, and non-domestic premises and their general and specific duties of care to residents, staff, contractors and members of the public that may access our buildings. To develop and deliver a risk-based programme of asbestos management surveys and reinspection's ensuring consistency and quality of completed surveys and data by the effective use of assurance procedures.
