An exciting opportunity at the Perse has arisen for a part time (0.8) Teacher of English to start in February 2025, for a fixed term of one year. We are looking to appoint a high achieving graduate to join a supportive, energetic and collegiate department.
English and Drama are delivered together in a single department at the Upper, and these subjects offer a central position in the School’s curriculum. Each member of the department is a specialist in either English or Drama, and all colleagues share a passion for both subjects. We recognize the essential elements of the subject and the importance of powerful knowledge, while also aiming to inspire students with the creative elements that influence personal growth and develop higher order cross curricular skills. The department offers a wide range of creative writing, drama, public speaking, literacy, and study tour opportunities to all pupils.
Beyond the curriculum, the department organizes a wide range of activities for all pupils, including an extensive programme of in-house drama productions, debating and public speaking events, trips to the theatre and other cultural events, clubs and societies, and competitions.
The Perse School Cambridge is one of the country’s leading independent co-educational day schools for children aged 3-18.
We are committed to providing a competitive salary and benefits scheme alongside opportunities for personal and professional development. We want our staff to feel engaged and purposeful, which in turn helps pupils to be happy and successful.
Closing date: 20th November 2024 at 9.00am, but applications will be considered as they are received; The Perse School reserves the right to make an appointment before the closing date.
The School actively supports equality, diversity, and inclusion and encourages applications from all sections of society.
