Description We are looking for a Systems Controller to join our friendly team in Sproughton, Ipswich. Salary is up to £34,691 plus 20% uplift when working unsocial hours. As a key member of the Stock & Systems Team, you will be responsible for overseeing the automated system’s performance, ensuring smooth operations without blockages or downtime. Your focus will be on container and resource planning, ensuring that bays are efficiently managed, and coordinating between departments to resolve any issues. In addition to stock control, you will handle shift planning, escalations, and performance tracking, playing a vital role in maintaining productivity across the operation. How will you contribute? Container & Bay Planning: Ensure daily container plans are created and executed efficiently. Prioritize and manage containers on bays, turning them over effectively. Allocate and monitor resources, ensuring optimal use of drivers and bay workers. Plan and manage next-shift labour allocation to containers. Handle shunt prioritization (inbound vs outbound) to ensure timely and efficient resource use. Live Reporting: Produce reports including end-of-shift productivity, KPIs, and handover details. Prepare and distribute daily reports like the Labour Tracker, Target Tracker, and Empties List at specified times. Submit bay plans and live tip sheets to the gatehouse and escalate any issues to management. Manage key performance reports for container and handballer progress, tracking against planned KPIs. Issue Resolution: Address system faults, raise and escalate them as needed. Address shortages and manage any demurrage or priority requests. Work closely with internal teams to communicate and resolve any operational issues. Training & Process Adherence: Train and upskill staff on system-related tasks and ensure strict adherence to processes. Ensure adherence to scanning and process protocols for smooth system functioning. Performance Reviews & Monitoring: Conduct daily agency performance reviews and report on productivity. Track handballer and container unloading progress, ensuring smooth operations. Provide detailed handover reports to ensure a seamless transition between shifts. General System Management: Monitor stock movement and rework tasks, ensuring minimal impact on outbound operations. Manage system requests, such as user accounts and password resets. Escalate IT and system issues, including wearable and terminal problems, to the appropriate teams. What will you bring? Experience and Skills: Strong understanding of container planning and warehouse management systems. Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Demonstrated commitment to change management, with flexibility and enthusiasm for improvement. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Knowledge of handballer/container unloading processes. Experience with SAP and eWM is essential. Organizational Responsibilities: Reports to the Stock & Systems Manager.
