Job Description
The salary for this role is £67,023 (inclusive of a Market Premium Payment (MPP). Onsite working is expected for 4 days each week, however, we actively support requests for flexible working.
This role is based at either our Culham, Oxfordshire, or Whitehaven, Cumbria site. The position requires travel between sites as well as international travel.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions and possibly a search of open source data.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team, responsible for delivering projects within the RAICo Programme and the international account. This role is pivotal in ensuring that project objectives are clearly defined and achieved within agreed timeframes, budgets, and quality standards, while effectively managing project risks.
The Project Manager will play a key role in project governance, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver project outputs that enable tangible business benefits. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven professional to work on complex, high-impact projects within a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design project structures for each delivery stage throughout the delivery lifecycle.
2. Develop and manage project budgets within financial constraints and lead projects to achieve outcomes on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
3. Provide strong leadership and define roles, manage resources, and oversee smooth phase transitions.
4. Monitor Benefits Realisation to ensure long-term value delivery and develop and draft Business Cases.
5. Support strategic decision making through informed recommendations and resolve delivery obstacles.
6. Collaborate with the Head of Operations to define Project Management Plans and ensure effective communication, clear milestones and deliverables.
7. Proactively identify, monitor and mitigate project risks and issues and report on progress, including milestones, budgets, and risks.
8. Promote a strong SHE culture, ensuring regulatory compliance.
9. Cascade organisational vision into actionable project objectives, maintaining robust project controls.
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Experience:
1. Proven project management experience preferably in engineering, nuclear, or complex technical environments or highly regulated industries.
2. APM Registered Project Professional (MAPM).
3. Expertise in Business Case development and Benefits Realisation.
4. Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
5. Proficiency in risk management, change control, governance, and budgeting.
6. Knowledge of Quality Assurance standards and SHE best practices.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
1. Experience in the nuclear sector or related highly regulated industries.
