Overview: Working alongside our client, a market leader in the production of specialist components and equipment for the plastics industry, we are looking for a Sales Engineer to support and drive continued business growth.
Remit:
1. This position will suit an experienced Sales Engineer with sound technical knowledge of plastic injection moulding, plastic extrusion moulding or rubber moulding.
2. The successful Sales Engineer will report directly to the General Manager and will be responsible for driving sales growth via new and existing customers.

Role Expectations:
1. You will have a good knowledge of plastic moulding machinery screws, barrels and coatings, their applications within plastics process applications.
2. A thirst for knowledge and continuous learning are essential to maintain the company's leading position in technology in line with 4.0 smart automation.
3. Achieving agreed sales targets - in particular for order intake, profitability and market segmentation - with regular reviews together with the General Manager and, if necessary, an action plan to achieve agreed sales targets.
4. Developing sales opportunities in particular with new customers, but also lapsed and existing customers within the pre-defined territories of the UK and Ireland.
5. Building prospective customer lists from e.g. business directories, colleagues in the industry, and industry contacts, to use as lead in recruiting new customers and making new sales.
6. Identify and develop business opportunities for added value services with existing customers.
7. Increasing market awareness and sales of products and services through proactive direct and indirect marketing activities in coordination with the General Manager.
8. Prepare quotations and establish final sales prices in line with company guidelines in order to achieve a predetermined EBIT margin.
9. Sell not by price, but by using the functionality and quality of the products and services as sales arguments.
10. Maintain the company's customer database (CRM system) with up-to-date information.
11. Visiting customers on-site, both independently and together with technical staff, to advise on technical issues relating to production, process and service, which requires extensive travelling.
12. Carry out on-site measuring for extrusion screws and barrels using appropriate engineering measurement tools, Micrometers, Vernier Callipers, Electronic Bore Measurement devices etc.
13. Write reports to provide the General Manager and Head Office with relevant information.
14. Issue order entry details to Engineering and Accounts to ensure order details are clear and complete.
15. Writing technical papers for marketing purposes.
16. Representing our brand, products and services at trade shows or conferences in UK and overseas. Giving technical presentations at trade fairs or conferences.
Experience Requirements:
1. HND or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering or another engineering sector.
2. Experience of selling products and services in the plastics industry.
3. Good working knowledge & understanding of plastics processing.
4. Confident sales skills.
5. Ability to build excellent relationships through to senior management level.
6. The job holder must be able to work with initiative and with a high degree of autonomy.
7. High level of motivation.
8. Good communication skills both verbal and written.
9. Good IT skills, especially HubSpot (CRM) and Microsoft Office. (Training provided on CRM)
10. Excellent presentation skills using standard computer software.
11. Must be able to work without direct supervision, within tight schedules and manage several tasks at the same time.
12. Strong time and project management and organizational abilities.
13. Good negotiation skills.
14. Ability and willingness to learn new systems and procedures.
