Job Description
Job Summary:
The primary purpose of the role is to conduct internal quality audits in line with the organisation’s quality improvement strategy and Internal Audit Policy, with the aim of helping ensure that Praxis Care services are safe and effective, and comply with both external regulations and standards, and with the organisation’s internal policies and procedures.
The role will require regular travel, primarily to sites throughout Northern Ireland, England and the Isle of Man but also to the Republic of Ireland when required.
About The Role
Key Accountabilities:
* Carry out internal audits in line with the organisation’s internal audit programme and provide an assurance that the organisation’s services, including the environments in which care and support are delivered, are safe and effective, and that Praxis Care’s risk management, governance and control processes are operating effectively
* Provide written audit reports to all relevant parties following each internal audit, detailing the audit findings and any improvement action required.
* Monitor and report on the progression of quality improvement plan actions by services until satisfactory closure.
* As required, assist the Head of Quality and Governance to ensure the organisation is prepared for, and remains compliant with, the requirements of ISO9001 or other quality accreditations.
* As required, assist the Head of Quality and Governance to review the organisation’s policies and procedures to ensure they reflect regulatory requirements and best practice, and are effective in providing clear guidance to all staff, and to help develop new policies as the need arises.
* As required, assist the Head of Quality and Governance to manage the organisation’s corrective and preventive action schedule.
* Assist and contribute to the collation, analysis and delivery of corporate data on key qualitative management information as identified and agreed by the Head of Quality and Governance.
* Assist in the provision of high quality analysis and reports utilising empirical dashboard data, available from the organisations quality and governance dashboards and other sources.
* Support in the development of the QG Management Information System as required.
* Assist the Head of Quality and Governance to ensure Praxis Care meets its defined standards as outlined in all its legal, statutory, contractual (in relation to Care) and regulatory obligations.
* Support the HOQ to identify, escalate and manage any qualitative risks or weaknesses within these obligations.
* Ensure information is managed in line with all legislative requirements.
Requirements of the Role:
* You will be required to participate in the company performance management process

* To carry out all duties of the post in accordance with Praxis Care rules, regulations and policies
* To carry out additional duties of the role and all other required duties as and when necessary
* To participate in the organization's Out-of-Hours Consultancy Rota
Criteria:
* Professional qualification in Social Work/Applied Social Studies / First Level Nursing
OR
* Degree in the Health and Social Care Suite
OR
* QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Services ( or equivalent)
*Candidates with Social Work/Applied Social Studies/ Nursing should be on a respective live register at the time of appointment*
Experience:
* 3 years’ paid experience in the mental health, intellectual disability or autism field working within the health & social care sector.
* Demonstrate experience of supervisory management.
* Minimum of 1 years’ experience contributing to an organization's quality strategy, including audit and policy development / review.
Attributes, Skills and Competencies:
* Full valid driving licence on application and access to own transport on appointment. (If a disability precludes an individual from holding a driver’s licence, it should be stated how they can meet the mobility requirement of the post)
* Developed interpersonal and influencing skills
* Ability to manage time, prioritise work and utilise a problem solving approach.
* Knowledge of recognised quality assurance systems.
* Demonstrate knowledge of the social care regulatory and standards frameworks
* Demonstrate skills in document/report writing/dissemination
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Packages (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

Desired Criteria
* Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, such as ISO 9001
* Knowledge of research methodology
* Professional management qualification as recognised by HIQA/RQIA/R&I.
