Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship – Barclays Academy We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard working individual to join Barclays Academy team. As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice you will gain many new skills to help you develop throughout the apprenticeship. Key Details Salary: £6.40p/h increasing to NMW after 12 months Working hours: Monday to Friday 8:30AM – 16:30PM (term time only) 36 hours per week Location: : Barclays Academy, Canterbury Road, London, E10 6EJ Apprenticeship Details - 16 months expected duration to complete, working towards your Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification. (All learning is delivered online/ remote). Training Provider: LMP Education (rated 1st best UK training provider) During your time as a Teaching Assistant Apprentice you will undertake education support duties and assist the class teacher in the day to day needs of the pupils in their care, to enable the teacher to implement the curriculum and respond to the pupils’ needs. Your day to day duties will include: Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes • Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils • Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher • Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence • Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils’ work • Use strategies, in liaison with the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals • Assist with the planning of learning activities • Monitor pupils’ responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement/progress as directed • Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievement, progress, problems etc. • Promote good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policy and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour • Establish constructive relationships with parents/carers • Administer routine tests and invigilate exams and undertake routine marking of pupils’ work • Provide clerical/admin. support e.g. photocopying, typing, filing, administer coursework etc. Essential skills: Achieved GCSE grade C/4 or above in English & Maths Previous experience working or volunteering with children Personal qualities: Enthusiastic, and have an interest in working with children A team player Reliable, committed, and punctual Professional, organised, and attention to detail Confidence in your own ability to want to learn and develop About the Employer At Barclay Primary School we are ambitious about every child in our care and we recognise that it takes an entire community to educate a child – which is why we remain committed to working side-by-side with our parents.
