They are looking for a skilled Lead Embedded Firmware Developer to join their team developing smart EV charging technologies. Role: Lead Embedded Firmware Developer / Engineer Location: Nottinghamshire Working Arrangement: 1 Day in Nottinghamshire per week Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:00am to 5:00pm; Friday: 8:00am to 3:30pm. Industry: EV Charging Salary: £60k to £70k (Negotiable) Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain firmware for smart EV charging solutions compliant with industry standards, including OCPP, ISO61851, ISO15118, MID 2014/32/EU, WELMEC 7.2. Manage source code version control and project documentation. Collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure seamless product integration and functionality. Drive agile development processes and ensure responsiveness to emerging technologies. Contribute to the release and enhancement of in-house IP products and firmware. Provide technical leadership within the R&D team and manage multiple concurrent projects (up to 30). Skills & Experience Required 5 years of embedded firmware development experience, including expertise in C and C++ on ARM 32-64Bit cores. Proficiency with RTOS operating systems and embedded Linux. Strong ability to design structured code and manage version control. Experience with communication technologies such as CANbus, MODbus, WiFi, BLE. Strong project management skills and familiarity with agile methodologies. Desirable Skills (Not Essential) Experience in the EV charging or energy meter industry, including protocols like OCPP and MID. Familiarity with development tools such as Clion, Yocto, STM32, ESP32-IDF, VScode. Knowledge of ISO standards such as ISO15118.
